Revolution in Cardiac Surgery: The Aorta is now Recognized as an Independent Organ

For years, our research team in the TRR259 has gathered groundbreaking insights into the aorta. Now, the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) and the American Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) have stipulated that the aorta should be considered as an independent organ in the human body.

The University Hospital Bonn (UKB) is a maximum care hospital with more than 1,306 beds. Our more than 8,000 employees take on tasks in research, teaching and patient care as well as in public health at the highest level. Kick-Off-Meeting in Maria Laach sets stage for the second funding period of TRR259

Maria Laach, Germany - The TRR259 embarked on its second funding period with a successful Kick-Off Meeting held at the Seehotel Maria Laach on October 18-19, 2023.
