At the Vascular Medicine and Atherosclerosis Congress (VMAC) 2025, Christin Elster from Düsseldorf received the Young Investigator Award 2025 for the best presentation. She showed her achievements as Early Career Scientist in an outstanding presentation with the title “Characterization of IFNIC macrophages as potential therapeutic target in aortic aneurysm using scRNA- and CITE-sequencing”.

Christin Elster is PhD student in the lab of Prof. Norbert Gerdes and member of the TRR259 project A05.

The VMAC is the annual congress of three leading societies in Germany investigating atherosclerosis and its sequelae: the German Atherosclerosis Society (DGAF), the German Society for Lipidology (DGFL) – Lipid League and the Society for Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases (D.A.CH). This year it took place from February 6 – 8,2025 in the House of Technology in Essen, Germany.
