At the 40th Annual Conference of the German Society for Vascular Surgery and Medicine (DGG), Prof. Dr. med. Markus Wagenhäuser from Düsseldorf was awarded the prestigious Aortic Award. His outstanding scientific work on the project titled “Crosstalk of platelets with macrophages and fibroblasts aggravates inflammation, aortic wall stiffening, and osteopontin release in abdominal aortic aneurysm” was recognized for its groundbreaking contributions to vascular medicine.

He shared his latest research on the protein APRIL and its role in cardiovascular diseases, highlighting its importance in immune system functions related to heart health.
