Your duties:
You will be part of the central project S01 “Animal models” of the DFG-funded initiative TRR259 in Düsseldorf (https://www.trr259.uni-bonn.de/en/projects/s01) and responsible for the central planning, conductance, coordination, training and supervision of microsurgical techniques in animal models to induce aortic valve stenosis and aneurysms. This also includes comprehensive in vivo phenotyping (e.g. cardiac and vascular ultrasound), ex vivo assays, cell isolation and culture, histology and molecular analysis at the research site Düsseldorf. Furthermore, you will be responsible for coordination and communication between Bonn, Cologne and Düsseldorf with regard to cross-location quality management and assurance of all experiments.
 
Your profile:
We search a highly motivated person with an educational profile in veterinary medicine, biology, biochemistry, pharmacy or related fields. Excellent communication and organization skills are mandatory.
You need to be able to work independently with high precision in experimental techniques and data analysis, self-motivation and the capability to work in a team including interactive cooperation with the partner sites in Bonn and Cologne.
A scientific background in cardiovascular research will be preferred. Experience and knowledge in animal models and microsurgical techniques are required. Knowledge in cardiovascular phenotyping (Ultrasound, MRI, CT) as well as advanced cellular and molecular techniques are eligible.

The Cardiovascular Research Laboratory of the Division of Cardiology, Pulmonology and Vascular Medicine provides a Postdoc position in the central project headed by Dr. med. Christine Quast in a DFG funded initiative with focus on aortic diseases in Düsseldorf. You will be able to prove and expand your knowledge and experience in cardiovascular models in a highly interdisciplinary team. You are encouraged to and supported by expert training and qualification within the scientific infrastructure of the campus (https://www.juno.hhu.de/) and TRR259.
