Second Funding Period Approved! Second Funding Period of TRR259 Approved!

The TRR259 “Aortic Disease” was awarded a DFG grant of about 14 Mio € for its second funding period (2023 – 2027)! With this extension, we are excited to continue cutting-edge research into aortic diseases in Cologne, Düsseldorf, and Bonn.

Over the next four years, we will build upon our previous work and initiate new projects to further our understanding of the underlying causes and potential treatments for aortic diseases. We are incredibly grateful to the DFG for their continued support, and we look forward to sharing our progress with the scientific community and beyond.

As part of our extended funding, we are thrilled to welcome several new project leaders who will be spearheading exciting new research projects within the TRR259. Each of these projects has been carefully selected to address key knowledge gaps in the field of aortic diseases and build upon our previous successes.

Allow us to introduce our new project leaders:

A05: Welcome Dr. Susanne Schmidt (Institute of Innate Immunity, Bonn)

A08: Welcome Dr. Staffan Hildebrand (Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology, Bonn)
