In PICTURE A SCIENTIST a biologist, a chemist and a geologist take on these questions and take the audience on a journey through the experiences of their academic careers - as women of science.
In their careers they are exposed to discrimination right from the start. Women scientists have to fight a constant battle for recognition, respect and equality.
The documentary gives hope because it tells the story of strength and solidarity, of courageous women scientists who fight against injustice and start a global discourse on change and equality. In futuristic laboratories and in spectacular fieldwork settings, he makes it clear what an inestimable value the work of women researchers is and how science can be moved for the better through systematic and structural upheavals - for a world in which girls can realize their dream of research, for a world full of biologists, astronauts, chemists and mathematicians.
Participation in the film screening is free and only possible after successful registration by June 12th, 2021. After the registration deadline, you will receive your personal link to the film by email, which is valid for 48 hours from July 4-5, 2021.
On the following Tuesday July 7th at 12 p.m., we want to start a discussion about the movie and the questions raised. Anneliese Niehoff (www.bukof.de) will host a discussion panel of three scientists that will open the session to which you are invited to actively participate.
