 The University Hospital Bonn (UKB) is a maximum care hospital with more than 1,306 beds. In the Medical Clinic and Policlinic II of the University Hospital Bonn, the following part-time position (19.25 hours/week) is to be filled in the Collaborative Research Center/Transregio TRR259 "Aortic Disease" (spokesperson: Prof. Dr. Georg Nickenig) as of July 1st, 2022:

Scientific coordinator (m/f/d) of the integrated graduate school of the TRR259

The position is project-related, initially limited until June 30, 2023, with the option of extension.
The position is embedded in the SFB Transregio 259 "Aortic disease", approved by the DFG in 2019, which, as an interdisciplinary project involving cardiologists, immunologists, and physiologists at the Bonn, Cologne, and Düsseldorf locations, examines the different aspects of aortic diseases. The Integrated Graduate School of the TRR259 supervises around 20 doctoral students.

Your tasks:

  • Administrative and scientific coordination of the integrated graduate school
  • Regular reporting to the Graduate School spokespersons
  • Organization of workshops, events (summer school, symposia), monthly seminars, and journal clubs
  • Control and documentation of the regular meetings of the students with the individual doctoral committee
  • Close cooperation with the scientific coordinator of TRR259 (organizational and financial matters)

Your profile:

  • University degree in medicine, psychology, humanities or natural sciences, Ph.D. desirable
  • Very good German and English language skills, high intercultural competence and communication skills
  • Very good organizational and communication skills
  • Structured, efficient, and very independent way of working
  • Ability to work in a team
