DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, we’ll explore how we can better focus on
our audience. We’ll investigate the challenges audiences can have in pro
cessing and understanding presentations. And we’ll practice using the to
ols that can combat these challenges.\nDuring the workshop you’ll have t
he chance to apply those tools to your presentation. Everyone will get the
chance to present to a partner\, and we’ll finish by seeing a selection
  of your presentations.\n\nIn the workshop\, we’ll be looking at:\n\n•
How audiences really make decisions\n• How to make it memorable\n• Wh
at are the attention magnets?\n• Slides: where they help\; where they ha
rm\; how to make them work for you.\n• How belief and memory are linked
and what that means for you\n• Demonstrations and Analogies\n• Statist
ics that stick\n• The language of power\n• The ancient art of rhetoric
\n• What makes your audience care and therefore act?\n\nYou’ll see exa
mples from real presentations\, all of which won funding or investment.
